Seven of our children represented Heathfield schools in North Wealden District Cross Country Finals. They all ran well, but of particular note were Theo Hall and Daniel Stidder who came fourth and fifth respectively in the boys event thus qualifying for the East Sussex County Finals.

PARENT TEACHER CONSULTATIONS Thursday 4th March 5.50 – 8.30pm Tuesday 9th March 3.50 – 6.30pm
At these times you have a formal opportunity to talk to your child’s teacher. The sheets for signing up for appointments will be on display in the entrance area from Tuesday 23rd February. Please remember that we can only give one appointment per child.
Teachers will be putting out all the work books for children whose parents have made appointments.
SCHOOL TRAVEL PLAN
We are raising the profile of healthy travel options and seeking ways to facilitate improvements. In order to do this, we do need your views and ideas on the matter. Included with this newsletter is a parents’ questionnaire. We would be grateful if you could spend a few minutes completing it and return it by Thursday 11th February.
The children will have an opportunity next week to express their opinions.
HATS FOR HAITI
Thank you for supporting this. We raised £234 that has been sent to the DEC Haiti Appeal.
RNLI CAKE SALE
The recent sale organised by year 4 selling cakes made by the children raised £55.06. Well done children.
POLICY FOR REWARD AND DISCIPLINE
A copy of this updated policy is on this website.
EARRINGS
A recent health and safety ruling has drawn attention to the danger of wearing earrings during physical activity. Children will not be allowed to wear earrings during PE lessons. Until now we have allowed them to cover them with tape; this will no longer be allowed. If you insist on your chidren wearing earrings to school, they must be able to remove their own earrings for PE. If they cannot, then we will not be able to let them have the PE lesson.
WORLD BOOK DAY VOUCHERS
After the half term holiday each child will be given a World Book Day voucher. This can be redeemed against a book purchase in any participating book shop.
SAINSBURY’S ACTIVE KIDS VOUCHERS
Sainsbury’s will begin to give these from 17th February, so if you get any, please send them in.
SCHOOL HOLIDAY
The school will close for the February half term holiday at 3.20pm on Friday 12th February and reopen, following a staff training day, on Tuesday 23rd February.
